Worship and Mission work together, seeking areas where one’s work affects and infuses the other, always aware that Worship and Mission are both expressions of our love for God and God’s love for us.
The Worship Ministry Area is responsible for the appearance of the sanctuary and the presentation of the worship service.
The Mission Ministry Area coordinates, proposes and supports mission actions in our congregation, our presbytery and our national church; in our community, our country and the world. Mission oversees four annual church-wide offerings as well as local ongoing mission involvement and special mission projects.
The Worship and Mission Ministry Area reports directly to the Session, and indirectly to the whole congregation. The committee is composed of one sitting Elder for Worship, one sitting Elder for Mission, and one former elder for Worship or Mission. The Director(s) of Music are non-voting members, as may be mission or worship area representatives or coordinators who may from time to time report to the Worship and Mission Ministry Area Committee. While the Pastor is ex officio a member of all committees, the Pastor is, per the Book of Order, responsible for planning and/or overseeing the worship services, and there essential to the Worship Committee.
