Meet Virginia Tubbs
Virginia has served as Director of Music and Organist of First Presbyterian Church since 1998. Virginia graduated from Andrews University with a BA in piano and a minor in Mathematics. She then completed her MA, graduating cum lade, in Piano with a minor in Composition. She has completed further study in piano and chemistry at Indiana University, in organ at the Peabody Institute, and in law at Western New England College School of Law.
Virginia began her career as a choir director and a piano, organ and voice teacher in 1968. She has taught at Bakersfield Academy, Walla Walla College, Garden State Academy and Vermont College School of Music and Dance. She has worked as a church musician since 1974, playing at some of the largest churches in the country.
Since moving to Eau Claire in 1998, Virginia has served as Secretary and then President of the Chippewa Valley Music Teachers Association, and as Board Member and then Dean of the Chippewa Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
When not at the keyboard Virginia is often found playing with her three cats, or outside cycling and gardening.
