Service Projects

Service within our church and community is an important part of putting our faith into action!  Throughout the year, we will assist with various service projects within the church, assist with hosting at Beacon House, participate in community activities like Hike for the Homeless (CROP Walk), and more.

Christmas Tree Collection & Recycling - this has become an annual fundraiser held following Christmas to help raise funds for Youth Mission Trips

Youth Prepare & Serve Wednesday Night Dinners - several times during the school year we will take over the Wednesday Night Dinners to give the kitchen crew a well deserved break and to raise funds for Youth programming.

Other Fundraisers - will take place throughout the year - stay tuned for more details.

Do you have a great idea for a Youth Fundraiser? Be sure to share your ideas with any of our youth leaders.

Confirmation is a time for individuals to explore their faith, learn about the Christian and Presbyterian traditions, and grow in community with one another.

When a child is baptized in a Presbyterian Church, the parents and the whole church make vows to lovingly raise that child in the Christian faith. When you reach a certain age (in our church it’s 8th grade or older), you are given the opportunity through Confirmation to claim that faith as your own.

We typically hold Confirmation classes every other year.   Eighth grade students, or older, are encouraged to participate and will be matched with an adult mentor.

Please contact Sara Gannon, Christian Education Director,  with any questions.

Coffee House

Talent Show

Each year the Youth Group  and leaders transform the Fellowship Hall into a cozy "Coffee House" atmosphere to host a Talent Show.  Everyone (members, nonmembers, young and old)   is invited to share their gifts and talents at this popular event while guests enjoy coffee, tea, popcorn and scrumptious desserts.

This very popular event raises funds to help sponsor a young boy from Nicaragua that is hosted by the Youth Group of First Presbyterian Church through World Vision.

Visit our Coffee House Talent Show Album on the church Facebook Page to view photos from this unique event.
