There is always something happening at First Presbyterian Church.....there is a variety of opportunities to serve, grow, be nurtured, create relationships and connect with others.
Whether you are a member, friend of the congregation, or a visitor, we invite you to participate in congregational life, spiritual formation, and other activites at First Presbyterian Church.

- CENTERING PRAYER: 12:00(noon) -12:30pm
Centering Prayer is a form of meditative or contemplative prayer that involves silently sitting with the intent to let go of our distracting thoughts and return our focus to God, consenting to God's transforming work on our heart, mind and spirit. No problem if you've never done anything like this before --we will welcome and guide you. Please contact Sara Gannon if you have questions. (Begins Sept. 5th)
- CENTERING WORSHIP: 6:15pm - 6:30pm
All ages are invited to gather in the Wellspring Room on Wednesday evenings for 15 minutes to RE-center our attention on God with simple singing, a reflection and prayer.

Vacation Bible School &
Nature Workshop (Summer)
At First Presbyterian Church we have our own variation of "Vacation Bible School." Each summer we host a week full of nature and spirituality exploration for ALL AGES! (kids, teens and adults) We try to be outdoors as much as weather will allow. It’s all about reconnecting - connecting to God, connecting to the earth and connecting to others. Come be spiritually nurtured through nature!
Learn more about our VBS / Intergenerational Nature Workshop and view photos from our recent workshops.
Saturdays at 5:00pm in the Fireside Room (upper level) - See Calendar for Updates since this group does not meet weekly.
We invite you to come experience worship, community, and thoughtful discussion around how to live faithfully in ordinary life. All are Welcome!
Despite the name, we do not come barefoot. Rather, the name for this ministry group and its mission, is derived from Brandon Hatmaker and his reference to going out into the world and being a barefooted church. When Brandon was visiting another church, the pastor invited all who were willing, to leave their shoes at the communion table when they came forward so that they could be donated to those in need.
Summer Spiritual Formation Opportunities:
This one-of-a-kind program offers a multitude of learning, worship, and personal enrichment opportunities for all ages. Synod School is a midsummer ministry of the Synod of Lakes & Prairies that is held each July at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA.
It is a place where you…
…learn something new
…experience hospitality and grace
…stretch your mind and your faith
…leave spiritually and personally renewed!
Many attendees consider it to be the best week of the summer.
Every year we have several pariticpants from First Presbyterian Church, including some who lead classes and activities.
